Hyeonji Kang claims Dubai Creek Summer Open

Hyeonji Kang claims back-to-back victories at the PING Dubai Creek Summer Open

Hyeonji Kang: Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club once again hosted the PING Dubai Creek Summer Open this weekend. The weather posed the greatest challenge to golfers, with high temperatures and even worse humidity. Despite this, 73 brave golfers enjoyed what continues to be an excellent event in the club’s calendar.

The greens were rolling true and the fairways were lush, rewarding the deserving tee shots. For the second year running, our Junior Captain, Hyeonji Kang claimed victory with a superb 70 (-1) beating Max Burrow (71, E) by a whisker.

An astounding net 65 (-6) saw Sekhar Reddy Vangimalla win the Men’s net division, followed closely by Frederick Engelhardt who carded a net 67 (-4).

The Ladies net division was won by Janet Kim following another incredible score of 65 (-6). We had an impressive field of 12 juniors play on Saturday and the scores reflected it. Emanuele Galeppini took first place with a splendid net 66 (-5). Our on-course prizes ensured skilful tee shots did not go unnoticed. These were won by, Mark Williams (NTP on the 5th hole), and William Page (NTP on the 14th hole).

After the prize giving, Dubai Creek’s Director of Golf, Rhys James commented; “Once again, we extend a huge thank you toward the sponsors of this fabulous event, PING, who always donate desirable prizes. It’s a pleasure to welcome you all to the Creek and we would just like to thank you all for making this event so special. Congratulations to all our winners today!”
