Perng crowned April ERL Monthly Stableford Champion at Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club

Chang Shyh Perng proved the hottest golfer in a very competitive tournament that saw over 30 golfers tee it up in search of being crowned the ERL Monthly Stableford Champion.

Perng racked up an impressive 5 under 41 points with a very consistent back 9 total of 21. This proved pivotal as improving lady golfer Helena Cornish also totaled 41 but Perng’s back 9 score was enough to win on a countback.

Cornish who has been in fine form of late after finishing high in both the Ladies Club Championships and the Sharjah Cup just missed out but was satisfied by collecting the winning prize for Division 2.

The Division 1 prize went down to 36 points and a whole bunch of players finished in between the two markers but were only applicable for the division 2 category, therefore the division one award went to Salim Shaikh who made an impressive birdie on the par 4 11th hole to settle the spot.

The best gross on the day went to John Gould, himself and South African Roy Holmes finished on 30 gross points, but a superior back 9 score from Gould saw him take the bragging rights over his scratch team fellow golfer.
