Park Produces Perfect Performance at tower Links Golf Club

What more can I say about Mr. J.I. Park that has not been already reported, the man is unstoppable.

If I said that this has been the best month in his golfing career I don’t think I would have too many people that didn’t agree with me. Park has in his possession what the great Tiger Woods would dearly love to have again and no, it’s not his wife, it’s a rock solid golf game and the confidence that it brings.

Park has won was the 6th staging of the Tower Links Medal Final for 2011 after carding a very impressive gross of 78/67 nett, edging out a fast finishing Simon Turner by a single stroke. Park’s game is all about consistency and he showed that on the day with a front nine of 40 strokes only to better that on the inward nine with a score of 38, highlighted by a birdie 4 on the final hole.
Turner’s game on the other hand was what you would call slightly unstable; he had more highs and lows than a weather map. Turner had the luxury of having 2 more strokes on his handicap than Park and turned in 43 after finding a couple of those lows on holes 5 and 6. Things had not change either when he walked of the 10th green as another unsightly double bogey was penciled in on his card.

What unfolded in that short drive from the 10th green to the 11th tee is anybody’s guess but I will let you in on a little secret, beverage hut. Turner was a changed man from that hole on, he rallied off three par scores, birdied two out of his next three holes, made a horrible 8 on the 17th and then made an eagle three up the last. Turner had made a double and a quadruple bogey in those 9 holes and still managed to shoot a 2 over par score of 38, the late Seve would have been proud.
Joe Wivou capped off another successful year at Tower links by finishing in third position after shooting a nett 70. Wivou had an indifferent front nine of 44 strokes after holes 8 and 9 left him scratching his head after shooting a pair of double bogeys. Wivou was quick to brush the bitterness aside however and was 2 under par after 4 holes on the back nine and very much back in the game. An untimely bogey on the 14th hole slowed his momentum but he parred in and signed for nines of 44 and 35, leaving him 3 shots shy of Park.
