Parigi Italian Job secures Ramadan Open at Abu Dhabi Golf Club

Abu Dhabi Golf Club and Saadiyat Beach Golf Club recently hosted the highly-anticipated 2013 Ramadan Open, proudly sponsored by Cadillac, Taylormade, Cristal Salam Hotel and PIC, on the Gulf’s first beachfront course and the National course.

The 36-hole Pairs Better Ball Stableford took place at the two Troon Golf-managed venues across two days, teeing off at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club on day one and moving to Abu Dhabi Golf Club for the final decisive round.

Both members and visitors took to the course to compete for the title and prize of the official Ramadan Open Trophy, a Taylormade R1 Driver, and a Weekend Stay package at Cristal Salam Hotel Abu Dhabi.

The Italian duo of Giorgio and Ornella Parigi captured the win with a net score of 87 points over the two-day tournament, positioning them four points clear of the second and third place finishers who both ended the weekend with a very respectable 83 points. Out of the tied pairings, it was Brian and Robert Mullen who were able to secure second place, edging out the third place team of Patrick and Mary McCarthy by count-back.

Participants of the 2013 Ramadan Open celebrated the successful event after the final round with a prize presentation and delicious Iftar buffet at the Grille at Abu Dhabi Golf Club.
