Organising Committee of the UAE Invitational Scratch Golf League announces schedule for 2013 2014
The Organising Committee of the UAE Invitational Scratch Golf League has announced the participating golf clubs and teams as well as the draw for the four divisions for the 2013 – 2014 season.
The participating clubs and teams for the 2013 – 2014 season are as follows;

Tower Links Golf Club / Al Hamra Golf Club, Ras Al Khaimah,
Abu Dhabi Golf Club,
Yas Links, Abu Dhabi,
The Address Montgomerie Dubai,
Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting and Golf Club,
Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club,
Jumeirah Golf Estates, Dubai.
Bob Driver, Co-ordinator of the League said at the announcement, ‘We are excited to welcome the eighth season of the UAE Invitational Scratch Golf League. The interest levels of participation from clubs and individuals in the UAE continue to grow and we are delighted to welcome Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club back into the League and for the first time Jumeirah Golf Estates. In addition Al Ghazal Golf Club has joined forces with Abu Dhabi City Golf Club to form an Abu Dhabi team. There are now 14 teams and 16 participating golf clubs this year who will compete in four divisions, two with three teams and two with four teams with all teams in each division playing each other on a home and away basis.’
The format of the matches in the 2013 – 2014 League will remain as before with each team consisting of 8 amateur men players a side who will play in four games of fourball betterball scratch matchplay from the club medal tees.
The points system will be as follows;
A winning team in a match earns an additional 2 points to the match points – ie. a team winning 3 –1 will earn 2 for the win plus an additional 3 match points – a total of 5 points
The losing team will earn 1 point per match won.
A match that is halved 2 – 2 will earn both teams 1 point for the overall half and an additional 2 match points – a total of 3 points for each team.
A 3 ½ – 1 ½ match result gives a 5 ½ – 1 ½ points respectively to the teams.
Individual matches are not required to play all 18 holes – a 4 & 3 win is a completed match.
An individual halved match after 18 holes is complete and no additional holes are to be played.
All fixtures in the division stages must be completed by 31st March, 2014.
The semi-finals will be made up of the four division winners and will be played on neutral venues which will be decided once the participating teams are known, with the final again being on a cumulative home and away basis. The defending champions of the UAE Invitational Scratch Golf League are The Address Montgomerie Dubai.
