OB Sealey seals the Genesis Medal at the Creek

Long standing Dubai Creek member OB Sealey on fire in the Genesis Medal

Yesterday saw the Genesis Medal take place at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club. A large field of golfers faced warm summer temperatures which proved a challenge to most of the field with only three players shooting scores under their handicap including OB Sealey.

Winning this month’s Genesis Medal, and by his own admission his first ever medal victory, was long standing Dubai Creek member OB Sealey after his excellent score of 66 net (-5). This was an exceptional round of golf from OB who finished with a gross score of 77 after two very solid nines of 39 and 38, including birdies on the 11th and 15th holes which equated to a comfortable three shot winning margin.

Scoring in the Men’s Division A was tight as only a single shot separated the top three players. The winner of this division was Tauseef Khan, thanks to his fine net score of 70 (-1) which included three superb gross birdies. Countback of the back 9 between Jamal Saab and Warren Panting decided the runner-up prize after both players scored 70(-1), Jamal taking this prize thanks to his one under par finish to his final five holes.

Countback of the back 9 decided a three way tie at the top of the Men’s B Division between Michael Estafanous, Alok Pant and Sary Arab, each of whom managed a score of 72 (+1). Michael and Alok were awarded the winner and runner-up prizes respectfully. The Best Gross prize was won by Mike McGinley who beat the Dubai Creek Junior Captain Hyeonji Kang by two strokes after shooting a superb gross score of 70 (-1).
A score of 69 (-2) for Janet Kim on her birthday lead to a convincing three shot winning margin in the Ladies Division over junior member Hannah Alan.

After the prize presentation, Dubai Creek’s Golf Services Manager, Michael Major commented; “Congratulations to OB Sealey and all the winners, it was great to see so many of you playing even in these hot conditions! A huge thank you to Genesis as always for sponsoring this year’s medal.”
