Nicoll continues his perfect start to the season

Defending OOM Champion Callum Nicoll (The Els Club) claimed the second title of the 2013/14 order of merit season and with it maintained his 100% win rate for the season.

Having claimed the RAK PGA Open title at the beginning of the month, Callum scored an impressive two under par round on the Faldo Course at Emirates Golf Club yesterday, which was presented in perfect condition, by Craig Haldane and his team.
 
Callum produced another solid performance in a round which mixed five birdies with three bogeys.  Using his length and accuracy to his advantage, three birdies on the four pars five holes were the foundation to his impressive display.

Runner Up in the first event, Anthony Buchanan (Tower Links) 73 once again claimed second spot and is looking like he could be a factor in the Order of Merit race this season, while Steven Munro (UAEPGA), improved on his poor performance in the 1st event to claim third place on 74 after a very poor start.
 
Local Club professional Alistair Brown and Saadiyat Beach professional Jaco Stander shared 4th place with rounds of 75.
 
Callum was obviously delighted to continue his love affair with Emirates Golf Club with another win:
“I have had the perfect start to the defence of my order of merit title and it is great playing so well, so early on in the season.  It was a pleasure to be back at Emirates Golf Club.  I have fond memories having played in the Dubai Desert Classic here and the club seems to bring the best out of my game.  The greens were rolling very nicely and it gave me some confidence with the putter”.
 
While Callum was scoring big OOM points, main rival Tom Buchanan (Al Ain), has been taking part in this year MENA Golf Tour and is representing his club and the UAEPGA very well.  When he returns the race for the OOM is sure to spice up.
