Newell and Rayment Continue their Fine Form
As the cooler winter months arrive the competitive feel at Al Hamra continues stay high as the members took on the immaculate Links in the November Medal.
Steve Rayment’s 79 was strong enough to earn him the Gross Division title ahead of John Watts and Eric Engelbrecht who finished second and third respectively with scores of 84 and 85. Gary Newells current rich vein continued as his drive and determination resulted in a more than honorable 68 net which crowned him Net Division champion. Second place went to Hermes Frare with a 2 under par net 70. Finishing in third place was Shawqi Sajwani who also recorded a 70 net but lost out to Frare after a card countback. The days on course twos challenge was shared between Gary Newell, Phil Mallinson and Eric Engelbrecht who recorded twos at holes 7, 7 and 15 respectively.
