New Saadiyat Beach Golf Club competition goes down a treat

Saadiyat Beach Golf Club’s new 9 hole competition went ‘down’ a treat last weekend. A larger than expected field of more than 40 hardy golfers, teed off late afternoon in searing temperatures, with the incentive of great prizes and great food in store at the end of the Saadiyat Sundowner Competition.

The winner of the Power Play competition was James Wood while the Individual Stableford event saw first place go to Kevin Wieczorek with Raymond Rice coming in second. The lucky draw winner was Kirk Cottrell. Prizes were presented during the Traditional South African Braai (BBQ) courtesy of Springbok Butchery and which is an integral part of the afternoon event.

“The Saadiyat Sundowner is played in a social, friendly atmosphere on course followed by a great social and networking event,” said Ken Kosak, General Manager of Saadiyat Beach Golf Club. “A different event format is played each week, and we have already seen a number of repeat bookings for this week’s Power Play competition on Thursday 23rd June 2011. But there is room for many more players,” he adds. “The earlier people book the better the choice of tee times to beat some of the heat. And if you don’t want to drive there’s a complimentary Shuttle Bus Service provided into the City Centre at 10.00pm.
