Naynesh Desai and Douglas Grote secure thrid Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge qualifier win

The Xerox Corporate Golf Challenge held its third qualifying round at the Doha Golf Club, Qatar, Saturday.

Of the 62 teams that participated, team Exon Mobil Qatar – Naynesh Desai & Douglas Grote – secured the winners title with a score of 63. Team Golfnuts – Tim Miller and Neil Flanigan – and Team Apollo Engineering 1 – Frank Harrigan and Alan Crozier –settled for second and third places respectively, with scores of 64 (countback) and 64 (net).

San Jose won Hole 3’s ECCO Nearest the Pin in the AM shotgun, and Steve Troop won in the PM shotgun. Hole 13’s Skandia Nearest the Pin was won by David Stewart in the AM shotgun, and by Kathleen Goodwin in the PM shotgun. Tim Miller won the AM shotgun of the PWS Hole 17 Nearest the Pin, and the PM shotgun was won by Frank Harrigan. ECCO’s Longest Drive award (Hole 10) was bagged by Jacky Tan in the AM shotgun and by Richard Bolton in the PM shotgun. Ras Al Khaimah Tourism’s stunning Hole in One prize, of a 7 night stay in the Waldorf Astoria with golf at Al Hamra and Tower Links golf courses, remains unclaimed.

Team Exon Mobil Qatar will join winners of the first and second qualifying rounds – GGA team and Team Sabre Travel Network – and compete in the 36-hole 2-day grand final, to be played at Tower Links and Al Hamra golf courses, with an overnight stay at the Waldorf Astoria, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, in December 2014.
