Nail Biting Finish to third installment of the TaylorMade series at Al Badia Golf Club

The third installment of the TaylorMade series, held at Al Badia Golf Club, was won by Steve Kelshaw whose round of 73 was enough to hold off the brave challenge from Brett Armstrong, who finished a stroke behind.

Armstrong led the competition until the 17th hole where a fatal triple bogey put a halt to his progress as playing partner Kelshaw scored birdie and went into the final hole a shot to the good.  Armstrong replied with a birdie on the 18th to put all the pressure on Kelshaw to sink a difficult putt for birdie and become the overall winner.  Kelshaw holed the putt to become champion and complete a flawless back nine with yet another birdie, taking his back nine score to three under par.

In a very tightly contested net division it took a fantastic net score of 66 from Elizabeth Batson to take home the winner’s medal.  The highlight of her round came on the tough par three seventh where a great tee shot allowed her to putt in for birdie. Niang Li and Dave McAdams came in second and third respectively in the net division.
Martha Bimmel took home both the ladies on-course prizes by being the closest to the pin on the 11th hole and achieving the longest drive on the ninth.  All prize winners were presented with products provided by the tournament sponsor,TaylorMade.
