Murphy and McKelvey March Rivoli Monthly Medal Champions at Arabian Ranches Golf Club
Ron Murphy returned a gross one under par 71 to win the March Rivoli Monthly Medal supported by Speed Cleaning. Murphy one of the Clubs Scratch League players had a steady round and got the job done on a day perfect for scoring, having started on hole 10 the Champion posted nines of 36 and 35 on his way to the winning score. Murphy’s round included five gross birdies with three consecutive birdies on holes 13,14 & 15. Murphy was tied with Max Burrow but a stronger back nine of 35 earned him the victory.
Murphy commented after his round ‘I’m happy with my performance today, it is a special event to win. Murphy continued: My thanks go out to the sponsors for their support and congratulations to all today’s winners.
The best net round of the day in the Men’s division belonged to Division A Champion Carl Night who posted a net 67.
The Ladies Division was once again dominated by Adele McKelvey and Kim Chiang both tied with gross 80 however on this occasion the count back over the last six holes went in favour of McKelvey to deny Chiang from winning three in a row.
Best Net went to Emma Rooms with a net 68 leaving Beatrice Galeppini in the runners up spot for the second consecutive event.
