Menelaou and Estment Secure convincing Victory at the Emirates Golf Federation Handicap Scheme for the Tech Access International Pairs UAE

Peter Menelaou & Garreth Estment will represent the Emirates Golf Federation Handicap Scheme in the 2011-12 Tech Access International Pairs UAE Presented by Cadillac National Final after winning the latest Qualifier by a staggering 5 stableford points.

Possibly the UAE‘s most attractive 9-hole course, Jebel Ali Golf Resort was presented in immaculate condition as a full shotgun vied for honours on Thursday 8th March.

Breaking all previous records, Menelaou & Estment’s margin of victory saw them through to the June finale at Yas Links in Abu Dhabi. Estment was a late replacement when Menelaou’s partner, Stefan Sickel was forced to withdraw due to injury but this proved decisive as both players contributed all the way through. Eight net birdies along with a stunning net eagle on the 5th hole by Estment led to their eventual 43-point total.

The 5-point victory margin was slightly misleading as Irish duo Shane O’Neill & John Fahy returned an impressive 41 points however their resulting disqualification due to an unintentional scorecard irregularity opened the door for Tyrone Evans and Shaun Little whose 38 points came from a very steady card. Third place was won by EGF stalwarts Mike Rifai & George Malcolm with an impressive 37 points.

Tyrone Evans and Peter Menelaou stayed in the prizes by winning the Nearest-the-Pins on holes 2 and 8 respectively.
The Jumeirah Golf Estates International Pairs UAE Qualifier was the 12th in the 2011-12 series. Peter Menelaou & Garreth Estment join representatives from Arabian Ranches Golf Club, Abu Dhabi City Golf Club, Els Club, Yas Links, Emirates Golf Club, Al Hamra Golf Club, Tower Links Golf Club, The Montgomerie Dubai, Al Ghazal Golf Club, Al Badia Golf Club and Jumeirah Golf Estates who have already secured berths in the National Final.

Tech Access International Pairs UAE Presented by Cadillac is also supported by Diamond Developers, Acuma Wealth Management, Cansco, Rivoli Group, Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi, City & Welcare Hospitals, Royal Caribbean International, Nike Golf, 7Days, Worldwide Golf and UAE Golf Online.
