McGuire and Engelbrecht are Al Hamra Club Champions 2011
The 36 hole two day event saw a strong field turn out to play for the chance to be crowned 2011 Club Champion.
In the mens division, a fine first round 73 laid the foundations for Craig McGuire to retain the title his score a massive 10 shots clear of his nearest challengers at the half way stage, Steve Rayment and Paul Tipping, who posted rounds of 83. Craig played some brilliant golf again on day two shooting a solid 77 to claim the 2011 Mens Club Champion crown with an overall total of 150 gross. The dual for second place was won by the battling Steve Rayment who added a 90 to his day one score to finish on 173 two shots clear of Paul Tipping who posted 92 for a 175 total.
The mens net division was won by Ahmed Al Mashgari who was also winning at the half way stage having shot a brilliant 68. His 75 on day two gave a 143 total 8 shots clear of nearest challenger Steve Dunnage who posted rounds of 77 and 74 to finish on 151 just two ahead of third place Shaqui Sajwani who posted 74 and 78 for 152.
As predicted the ladies Club Championship was won by Rita Engelbrecht with a total of 176 ahead on Cindy Rials in second. The net awards saw Rabab Al Haj pick up the runner up spot behind Liecl Ward who posted two fine rounds of 78 and 70 for a 148 total.
