March Monthly Medal result at Jumeirah Golf Estates

March’s Monthly Medal saw a strong field of competitors challenging for honours and the chance of qualifying for the Monthly Medal Winners Final.

The event was held on the Earth Course, which as always was in fantastic condition from tee to green.

Despite the windy conditions there was some superb golf played out on the course as Inderpal Singh stole the show in the Nett Division by shooting a nett 75. Singh returned his card with an outward nine of 46 and a battling inward nine, played into the wind, of 40. The highlight of Singh’s round was his birdie 2 at the par 3, 13th hole, which not only gave him his first birdie of the day but laid his claim to the nearest to the pin award. Taking the nett runners-up spot was Kevin Lueders with a battling nett 76. Following a couple of difficult holes early on in his round Lueders pulled his game together to finish strongly with 4 gross pars in his last 7 holes. Claiming the last spot on the winner’s podium was Mark Taylor as he finished one shot further back with a nett 77.

Lindsay produced one of her customary steady rounds returning two equal nines of 41 with the highlights being her 6 gross pars and back to back gross birdies on the long par 5, 14th hole and tricky par 4, 15th hole. The days special events were claimed by Inderpal Singh who took the nearest to the pin on hole 13 and David Mundell who dissected the middle of the 9th fairway with a thunderous drive to take the longest drive award.
