Luxury Middle East resorts chauffeur customers in new fleets of comfortable emission free Club Car Golf vehicles

High-end hotel resorts in the Middle East are finding that electric vehicles are perfect for chauffeuring guests and transporting staff within their expansive grounds.

The exclusive Atlantis The Palm and Banyan Tree Al Wadi resorts in the UAE are following the lead set by world-class golf courses to offer superior customer comfort and convenience, by implementing fleets of electric, emission-free vehicles built by Club Car – the world’s largest manufacturer of four-wheel electric vehicles.

Both UAE resorts have recently implemented a variety of the latest Club Car utility models, supplied by Hydroturf, distributor of Club Car vehicles in the UAE.

The world-famous Atlantis, The Palm situated on the iconic Jumeirah Palm Island in Dubai, has also recently bolstered its collection to 60 Club Car vehicles after receiving its initial batch of 48 in 2008.

Today, the resort operates a combination of utility vehicles that transport guests around its expansive 46-hectare site, which includes one of the world’s largest open-air marine habitats. The fleet also includes three Carryall Ambulances and a Café Express that enhances the security and convenience aspects of its service offering.

Tim Wise, Senior Vice President of Atlantis The Palm, said: “We chose Club Car because it’s a premium brand that matches our own brand image, and has an excellent reputation in the eyes of users. Our companies share a similar corporate ethos that stands for the utmost in quality, service and product, which is also important to us.”

“Hydroturf was also able to satisfy our requirement to maintain and service the vehicles on-site on our behalf. This means that the downtime for each vehicle is minimised.”

The Banyan Tree Al Wadi is a 100-hectare ‘hideaway’ in Ras Al Khaimah and the first desert and beach resort in the UAE to offer all-pool villas. It has recently expanded its fleet to 53 electric vehicles to help its guests, as well as its room service, housekeeping and maintenance associates find their way around the resort.

The desert environment throws up specific considerations for resort operators, as Anders Dimblad, General Manager of The Banyan Tree Al Wadi, explains: “The resort sits on 100 hectares of desert plains and is designed to blend unassumingly into its striking desert backdrop. We needed a car with sufficiently robust tyres to ensure our guests and associates are both properly protected from the weather elements and comfortably transported throughout the resort.”
