Welcome to the “Local View” feature. A simple question and answer session with Golfers on the ground who play Golf in the UAE. We are pleased to feature sisters, Boushra Dalile and Line Dalile , who are both keen Junior Golfers here in the UAE as our next Local Viewers! Q. How long been playing Golf ? A. I started taking lessons at the age of 12 and obtained my handicap at the age of 14.
Q. Handicap ? A. 20
Q. Occupation ? A. Homeschooled Student
Q. How long you lived in the UAE ? A. since 2005
Q. What area of the UAE do you live ? A. Sharjah
Q. How many times do you play golf a month ?
A. 2-3 times, it could increase when participating in tournaments, a minimum of 1 tournament a month.

Q. How do you cope with the heat in summer when playing golf ?
A. It’s not easy at all, I try to hold on and get used to it. I keep myself well hydrated and try to concentrate on what I came to do.

Q. Favourite Golf courses in the UAE ?
A. The Els Club Dubai, Dubai Creek and Earth Course – Jumeirah Golf Estates.

Q. Which of the 4 Emirates have you played golf ?
A. Sharjah, Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain

Q. Are you part of any golfing societies in the UAE ?
A. No

Q. Whats your lowest score on a UAE Course ?
A. 93

Q. Have you ever had golf lessons the UAE and was they good experience ?
A. Yes, they were good enough.

Q. Do you ever use a driving range or practice facilities in the UAE ?
A. Certainly, I practice on average 3 times a week.

Q. How do you find the service at Golf clubs in the UAE ?
A. Good.

Q. Are you a member of a golf course in the UAE, if not what would encourage you to
become a member ?
A. I’m a member of the Emirates Golf Federation. I don’t like to get used to one course. I play anywhere I can whenever I want.

Q. Do you visit any of the Golfing events in the UAE ? If yes, which ones ?
A. Yes, the Dubai World Championship and the Ladies Masters.

Q. What would you do to improve the UAE Golf scene ?
A. I don’t really know how the business is operated. But I’d say increase offers.

Q. Who are your favorite golfers past or present and why ?
A. I’d say Martin Kaymer and Matteo Manassero. Martin, because the key to being a great golfer is consistency and that’s what he has been doing this year. Matteo Manassero, he’s young enough to do it and old enough to do it right.

Q. Favourite sport apart from golf ?
A. I do lots of sports like skiing, skating, swimming and a little bit of tennis and basketball. But skiing is definitely my favorite apart from golf.

Q. What do you do to relax apart from golf ?
A. I love to play my guitar and write songs. I also like listening to music.

Q. Favourite other played Golf courses in the world
A. I’ve only played once out of the UAE, it was in Tunisia. I don’t really have a (top 3). Maybe I’ll give you an answer by the end of the year ;-)

Q. If you could play golf anywhere in the world where would it be ?
A. I’d play in Augusta National, USA, or I’d play some courses in Italy.

A. I try to keep myself hydrated plus it’s something you have to get used to.

A. Arabian Ranches Golf Club, Dubai Creek, Al Ain Equestrian Golf Club.

A. Sharjah, Dubai, Ras Al Khaima, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain

Q. Are you part of any golfing societies in the UAE ?
A. No

A. Yes, they were good, I learned a lot of things, they have good instructors and great techniques.

Q. Do you ever use a driving range or practice facilities in the UAE ?
A. Certainly, I practice on average 3 times a week.

Q. How do you find the service at Golf clubs in the UAE ?
A. It’s really great.

Q. Are you a member of a golf course in the UAE, if not what would encourage you to
become member ?
A. I’m a member of the Emirates Golf Federation because I like to play in different courses, not just one.

A. Yes, the Dubai World Championship and the Ladies Masters.

Q. What would you do to improve the UAE Golf scene ?
A. Increasing offers especially for juniors and school kids because they have the ability to learn at a young age.

Q. Who are your favorite golfers past or present and why ?
A. Jack Nicklaus, because he believed in mental practice, and he had the understanding of the game not only physically. Rickie Fowler, because I like his style on the course. Rory Mcilroy, because he is a young successful player with a passion for the game.

Q. Favourite sport apart from golf ?
A. Swimming.

Q. What do you do to relax apart from golf ?
A. I’d work on my books, sometimes write poems and paint drawing. I like saving Pi numbers, it’s really relaxing and fun for me.

Q. Favourite other played Golf courses in the world?
A. I’ve only played once out of the UAE, in Citrus Golf, Tunisia and it was a natural well designed course.

Q. If you could play golf anywhere in the world where would it be ?
A. St. Andrews and Augusta National.
