Lightening Strikes Twice at Al Hamra

In the first members Saturday Eclectic of the new Season it was Gary Newell who prevailed with a fantastic score of 36 points in blustery conditions. Newell had the wind in his sails as he trawled 22 points on the outward 9 holes to claim a commanding halfway lead.

Despite a couple of slips on the returning 9 holes Newell stayed composed to walk away with his second tournament victory in three months and propel his name into the upper realms of the Eclectic standings. Newell’s closest challenger on the day was Liecl Ward’s, who’s form of late has been eye catching, claimed her second, second place finish in as many days following on from the Floodlit Challenge. George Ward was the only competitor out on the course to be to convert a 2 as thus shared the pot with only himself.
