Lee and Oh go low at the Sharjah Daman Investments UAE International Pairs qualifier

A record winning score for an International Pairs qualifier took Kwang Jae Lee and Jun Seok Oh into the UAE Final at the end of an exciting days play at Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club on Friday.

This was the twelfth of the eighteen qualifiers in the 2014-15 Daman Investments UAE International Pairs and as always the title sponsors were highly visible as the Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club team put on an excellent show, ably supported by a strong field of club members.

In third place with a very creditable score of 41 Stableford points was last year’s winner Vinod Arya with a new partner in Chandan Vaidya. Just one point ahead was the partnership of Ramli Sulaiman and David Yeo, whose score of 42 points would have been a winning tally in several other qualifying event for this, the fifth season of UAE International Pairs.
But it was Lee and Oh who took the honours with an amazing score of 46 points, and it is they who will represent Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club in the UAE Final at Dubai after collecting the excellent Taylor Made first prizes.
Also in the prizes were JP Simon who took the nearest the pin prize on the 17th hole, and KJ Lee who recoreded the longest drive on the 7th hole on his way to victory.

After presenting the prizes, Rod Bogg, managing director of tournament promoters OnCourse Golf, said that with just six qualifiers to go, the field for the UAE was starting to take shape, with an all-inclusive trip to Spain up for grabs for the winning pair on May 29th.

The Daman Investments International Pairs is supported by AGMC/BMW, Standard Chartered Bank, Mediclinic, Visa, TaylorMade and Virgin Atlantic Airways.
