Latif on the March in the Midweek Medal played at Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club

Abdul Latif continued his fine form of late to march forwards and claim the Centro Sharjah by Rotana 9 hole Midweek Medal played at Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club on Wednesday 2nd October.

A near flawless 9 holes enabled him to finish up with a four under net score of 32, only a net 6 on the 4th hole par 5 dampened his score, however two net two’s on the par 3’s had him one stroke clear of his nearest rival.

Finishing that stroke behind was Indian golfer Abdul Moiz Khan, after a barren spell over the summer months he started the winter season in fine fashion by shooting a net 33, very consistent scoring with a professional finish of two straight birdies. Khan walked away with the Division 1 award for his evenings work. Iranian scratch team member Hassan Yazdi was biting at Khan’s heels, but fell just one shot shy with a net 34, Yazdi with only 1 stroke to use over 9 holes played incredibly well to actually finish under par for his gross score, Yazdi settled into the Runners-up spot in Division 1.

Strong Texan golfer Jeffrey Baker stole the show in Division 2 as he returned a net 35, after a series of lessons with SGSC’s new professional Scott Graham he seems to be reaping the rewards with a very steady scorecard and a winning voucher for Division 2. Next in line in Division 2 was Gil Nam Yang who shot a one over net 37 but still managed to scrape the Runners-up
