Last call for Volunteer Marshals for the DP World Tour Championship

With just six weeks remaining until the top 60 players on The European Tour do battle in the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai, the US$8 million is putting the final touches to its growing team of volunteer marshals and officials.

Chief Marshal Jenni Hoskins has once again been impressed with the response but stresses that time has not yet run out for those keen to play their part inside the ropes when the tournament brings the 2013 Race to Dubai to a thrilling finale on the Earth course at Jumeirah Golf Estates from 14-17 November.

“We still have a few places left and would be happy to hear from anyone who is interested in playing a key role at one of the biggest golf tournaments in the world,” she said.

“New recruits are always welcome and I am sure they will enjoy the occasion and the responsibilities involved in assisting with scoring and the management of spectator movements around the course. It’s a rewarding experience and something to remember for many years to come.”

With star names such as Race to Dubai leader Henrik Stenson, US Open Champion Justin Rose, former US Open Champion Graeme McDowell and former DP World Tour Championship winner Lee Westwood set to grace the Earth course, the volunteer marshals will work alongside many of the biggest names in world golf, while ensuring one of the UAE’s greatest sporting events goes with a swing.

Although many of the volunteer marshals do have previous experience, Hoskins is always happy to hear from enthusiastic golf lovers and anyone interested in finding out more should make contact direct by e-mail on jennih51@hotmail.com.

Tickets for the four-day DP World Tour Championship are free of charge and can be obtained now by registering online at the event website www.DPWTC.com.
