Lady Captain Head leads her team to victory in Emirates Golf Club Ladies season Opener

The Emirates Golf Club Ladies section turned out in force to see the new Lady Captain Barbara Head opening up the event with her drive on the iconic 1st hole of the Majlis course.

After a tentative drive the 67 Ladies then went out to compete around the championship Majlis course in pursuit of glory.

Barbara then went on to captain her team to victory in the 4 person scramble. Her team consisted of immediate past Captain Glynis Hendry, Carolyn Thompson and Stephanie Wilson. They had a fantastic score of 61.3 which included birdies on holes 7, 8, 16, 17 and 18.

The runners up spot was secured by the team of lynne Dickinson, Martha Wong, Naema Maya and Najla Bartette with a lovely score of 62.9 which included birdies on holes 3, 4, 8, 11 and 13.

The team of Annette Stewart, Mimi Hosking, Rekha Bandopadhyay and Maria Petre scored a nice 63 to take the Third spot. Their score included birdies on holes 2, 4, 6, 9, 16 and 17.

Maria Petre was happily surprised that she was the closest guess to Barbara’s opening drive and received a nice bubbly prize for her guess.

The on course special prize of nearest to the pin on hole 15 was won by Han Soon Shin and on hole 11 by June McDonald.  The two longest drives were won by Mimi Hosking and Janine Dols

During the dinner and presentation, Herbline Essentials conducted facial skin analysis for all of the participants. All the prize winners from today’s event received skin care products which were kindly sponsored by Herbline Essentials.
