Kirkland guides Golf News to Omega Dubai Ladies Masters Pro Am win

France’s Cassandra Kirkland spearheaded the Gulf News team to an emphatic victory in the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters Pro Am at the Emirates Golf Club on Tuesday. The team that comprised three amateurs – Henna Jodha, Serifa D’Souza and Soumaya Salem – carded a brilliant score of 20-under to win the morning session by a good two shots from the Carpetland team.

Led by Lorie Kane of Canada, the Carpetland team included Mansour Khodjadasteh, Alniz Popat and Fadi Mehio as amateurs.

The CNN-1 team, which included France’s Gwladys Nocera (professional), Kush Sama and Rahul Yadav, finished a creditable third on 17-under.

The Carpetland team called the shots in the afternoon Pro Am, taking the honours with an impressive 26-under score, three shots ahead of the Juniors team, led by South Africa’s Tandi Cuningham.

The juniors in the team included Alex Turlik, Clement Flaherty and Aashka Desai.

Defending Omega Dubai Ladies Masters champion Lexi Thompson guided the DUBAL team to a third place finish. The amateurs in the team consisted of Walid Al Attar, the former UAE National champion, Maurizo La Noce and Leslie Le Noce.

Mohamed Juma Buamaim, vice chairman and CEO of golf in DUBAi, the promoters and organisers of the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters, Malik Bey, regional sales manager of Omega, and Walid Al Attar, executive vice president, marketing and Sales, DUBAL, presented the prizes.
