Karlssons are ST Patrick’s Day Cup Winners at Arabian Ranches Golf Club

Hakan and Pernilla Karlsson scored 47 Stableford points to win the 2nd St Patricks Day Cup supported by Caddy Card held Saturday, 17th March at Arabian Ranches Golf Club.

The format for the event was Betterball Stableford. Each player used their handicap index as the allowance to be taken at the appropriate stroke index holes. The best net score between the two players was recorded in Stableford points at each hole. A net score of par gives you 2 points, net birdie 3 points, net eagle 4 points and a net bogey gives you 1 point.

The winners’ card consisted of two halves of 24 and 23 points. Having started on hole 7 in the shotgun format with 40 teams competing in the popular annual event their round included 5 net birdies with 4 net eagles and only 2 bogeys on the third and twelfth hole.

Both players shared the stage equally with each contributing on nine holes during the round. The pair used the Betterball format to perfection and scored no worse than a net par on only two occasions.
The Champions were closely pursued by eventual runners-up Graeme Wallace and Amanda Barrett on 46 points.
