Kapoor and Tah Triumph in 22nd edition of the Mixed Golf Tournament at Emirates Golf Club

Anvita Kapoor and Vikram Tah triumphed in the 22nd edition of the Mixed Golf Tournament supported by the Indian Members of Emirates Golf Club.

The pair fired a staggering 48 points over the Majlis course to take the prestigious title by three strokes. Tah, a 6-handicapper, managed to card 4 birdies for the round coming on the 3rd, 8th, 10th and 11th holes.  Anvita, a 35-handcippaer, contributed admirably to the team tally on 5 occasions.

Ashish and Chanchal Nanda compiled 45 points between them, the highlights of their round were birdies from Chanchal on holes two and seventeen.
Achal Ghai and Naresh Handa claimed third place with a better ball stableford score of 43 points.
The blind partner’s team of four winners went to Rajesh Deepchandani and Gaurav Verma alongside Martha and Bill Wong, they scored 43 and 41 points respectively for an 84 point total. In second place in the blind partners tournament was Anand Lakhiani and Nelly Amarnani with Cliff and Vic Caley, their total was 83 points with contributions of 42 and 41 respectively.
Third place went to Veneet Mohan and Vishal Tikku with Manish Bakshi and Aayush Bakshi on a combined 81 points.
The prizes for accuracy on the nearest the pin prizes went to Ishu Rupani, KJ Singh, Vikram Tah and Lionel Smith. Alok Rawat and Charlie Stricklin won the straightest drive awards.

The prize giving culminated with the traditional raffle on behalf of the junior staff. A fantastic 50 prizes were donated by the membership and over Aed 15,000 raised for the junior staff team. The evening climaxed with India winning through to the Final of Twenty Twenty World cup leaving almost all competitors in high spirits!
