Junior Dhruv Nair crowned Yas Links Summer Open Champion 2011
The event boasted a field size of over 170 players from all across the UAE, and all golfers were blessed with the usual summer sun and Arabian Gulf winds, which regularly blow across the links course in Abu Dhabi.
Despite being mid-way through the Summer Months the Links Course was in pristine condition and with a very fir course set up set the scene for an eventful day.
An impressive start to the award ceremony was the Hole in One Certificate presented to Bilal Belaid for a spectacular shot on the 17th Hole. One to surely remember.
The heat certainly did not reflect on the scoring as there were some magnificent scores for the tournament. Winner of Division 2 (16-36) with a fantastic score of 42 points was Rishi Nair. The winner of Division 1 (<0-15) was Henry Steel with an impressive score of 42 points. However, congratulations has to go to Junior Dhruv Nair who was crowned Yas Links Summer Open Champion 2011 with a untouchable score of 45 points.
Steven Morgan, Head Professional said: ‘It was a hugely successful day enjoyed by all. The scoring in these events is always very close but to have a winning score of 45 points is simply fantastic. Taking into consideration that there was at least a 2 club breeze for most of the day makes it even more special. We have a great response from all competitors with regards to the course condition and overall hospitality so it was a rewarding day for all”.
