Jumeirah Golf Estates US Open Championship June Members and Guests Pinehurst Stableford
The US Open Championship Member & Guests Pinehurst Stableford was played over the Fire course saw one of the largest fields of the summer so far congregate at Jumeirah Golf Estates.
A field totaling 40 teams witnessed some wonder golf over a testing course that was in superb condition and appreciated by all competitors.
The caliber of golf was of a very high standard with many teams scoring either forty points or above considering many competitors were experiencing this new format for the first time. Pinehurst Stableford certainly spurd the competitors to raise their games and play very tactile golf throughout the round where general scores/points were very respectable and all challenging for the lead. It was the duo of Terry Waite, partnered by Ehtasham Uddin that prevailed with a stunning tally of 43 Stableford points. A sturdy front nine amassed 24 points, a truly winning performance by both players considering players where alternating shots through strategic golf.
Taking the runner ups position after a card playoff was the partnership of Steve Drake and Mike Talbot, complementing each other’s game they established a very strong position after their first nine holes recording 25 points, however a front nine of 17 points may have relinquished a title bid however the pair amassed a total 42 points, only a single point from claiming first place. Denise Fennell and Mick Fennell combined well to take the final podium position of third place. Their total of 42 points was a fine effort indeed, sprinting home in a respectable 22 Stableford points to graciously receive their prizes.
