Jumeirah Golf Estates Club Championships 2012 results
The members at Jumeirah Golf Estates witnessed a truly great 2012 Club Championship being contested over 36 holes this weekend.
The championship courses of both Fire and Earth managed to create a stern test of golf for all participants over every division and by the final days play, a worthy champion would be crowned. Performances of both ladies and men’s for round one were very closely fought without any obvious front runners appearing. Scores of 70 and 71 from Bilbo Perrot and Craig Forrest respectively indicated a high caliber of golf indeed and were the early pace setters in the men division whilst the ladies division was tied with scores of gross 86’s by participants Young K Worral and Sun Le Rim.
The final days play was contested over the formidable Earth course with nerves running high and expectations’ increasing from the previous days play it was all down to the player who manages to control their game and stay in the present. Experienced showed greatly in the men’s division with Bilbo Perrot triumphing over the field returning a three over par 75 for an overall gross total of 145, winning by five shots from Craig Forrest who showed his grit and determination to the very end by taking sole 2nd place with an overall gross total 150 returning scores of 71 and 79.
The Ladies Championship crown was awarded to Young K Worral. Taking confidence from her previous days play, Young retained her composure after a nervy outward nine holes to record a final round of 94 producing a total overall gross score of 180. Sun le Rim her nearest competitor, and co-leader after round one managed to secure second place with a total gross score of 184.
Congratulations must also go to the winners of the Division Net Contests. Zuzana Pourova returned very consistent rounds of net 68 and 67, totaling 135 to receive the Ladies Overall Net Prize whilst in Division A, recording net scores of 69 and 72 for a total of 141 Omar Iqbal Khan was delighted with his weekend’s performance to collect the 1st place. In Division B William Gerantonis collected the prize, winning by a margin of two shots, William signed for a total of 147 with net rounds of 73 and 74.
