The series consists of four fixtures which are played between two of the local clubs in the Dubai Golf portfolio; Dubai Creek and Emirates. The Stableford format always produces some fun competition and despite the hot summer conditions the event was again a great success and boasted a full field of over 100 players.

The stunning creek-side course was again in superb condition and this would present a great opportunity for players to make their mark on the series and put themselves into contention ahead of the final fixture on the 31st August.  Dubai Creek member Ishwar Jodha capitalized on his knowledge of the course to take 1st place with a superb 40 points.  After being presented his prize Jodha commented; “It is great to win here today. The summer series is a fantastic event as it provides players the chance to continue playing and competing through the summer months over three fantastic courses.  Many thanks to FootJoy for their generous sponsorship.”  There proved to be a closely fought battle for the runner-up spot between Creek members Ashok Kumar and Michael Nielsen after both players finished on an excellent 39 points.  A strong finish from Kumar saw him clinch it over Nielsen as he was back in 20 points to Nielsen’s 17.

Aashka Desai was back in the winner’s circle and picked up her second win of the series with a superb performance and a total 40 points to win the Ladies Division.  The best score of the day came from the Junior Division with young Hrithik Khurana who was victorious with a staggering 43 stable ford points, beating fellow Creek junior Kabir Nanda by a single point.
The two on course prizes went to Glory Xavier and James Jackson for their accurate tee shots on the par-3 8th and 14th holes.
Things are now very close heading into the final fixture with just five points separating the top 3 players in the order-of-merit.  Aashka Desai’s win today puts her top of the leaderboard with a 107 total, Dhruv Chopra is just four back on 103, and just one point further back is Aryaan Kumar on 102.  There are a number of players still well in contention and with things this close the series looks set for a thrilling finish.

After conducting the prize presentation Dubai Creek’s Head Golf Professional Stephen Hubner commented; “It has been wonderful to enjoy another full field for a summer event here at Dubai Creek.  Our thanks go to Pro Sports International for their support of this popular series and we look forward to welcoming you all to The Majlis course at Emirates Golf Club on 31st August for the final event.”
