Jennings & Al Laggitti win The Luckiest Ball on Earth at Al Ghazal Golf Club

The first 18 hole event of the 2011/12 season played at the Al Ghazal Golf Club, was the October Monthly Medal. The event was oversubscribed with competitors also competing for the first of the AGGC’s Golfer of the Year events, and for a chance to play in the Grand Final of the 2011 Dubai World Championship’s play off for a place in the PRO-AM at the Jumeirah Golf Estates in December.

The overall nett winner of the October Medal and Luckiest Ball on Earth winner was four handicapper Rob Jennings, with an impressive one over par 72.  Rob also won the Division 1 gold medal; runner up was John Mills with on 76.  The second of the Luckiest Ball on Earth prizes was won by Abdul Rahman Al Laggitti.  Both Rob and Abdul Rahman were extremely pleased to be able to represent Al Ghazal Golf Club in the Grand Final on the 15th November 2011.  Both players hope they will be able to get through to the Dubai World Championship’s Rolex PRO-AM, presented by DP World.

The Ladies Division Silver Medal was won by Lizette Breytenbach with a 74, from second placed Ming Brown on 77.

The Men’s Division 2 Silver Medal was won by David Parkinson on 73, from Chris De Beaufort [75].  Division 3 Bronze Medal winner on 76 was newcomer Malcolm Rees from runner-up Abdul Rahman Al Laggitti on 78.

2’s Club winners were Division 1 – Rob Jennings, Division 2 – Mike Latham and Division 3 Joe Southam.  Spoon winners were Bobo Bradley, David Tait and Ahmed Al Hosani.

Captains Peter McManus and Deborah Castle announced and distributed the prizes and also thanked DP World, Rolex, Jumeirah Golf Estates, EGF and the European Tour for this great opportunity to take part in such a prestigious golfing event.
