Jamal bin Marghoub wins season ending UAE Nationals Monthly Medal at the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club

Jamal bin Marghoub produced a consistent tee-to-green performance to win the season-ending UAE Nationals Monthly Medal at the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club on Sunday.

With an overcast sky and slight breeze presenting ideal conditions for golfing, Bin Marghoub carded a solid 35 points to take honours, one shot ahead of Musa Al Janahi. Mohammed Al Banna finished a creditable third on 32 points.

Abdullah Al Musharrekh confirmed his credentials as one of the leading Emirati players when he signed off with an impressive 75 to win the Best Gross prize.

Ali Ahmed and Adel Zarouni, who is also the secretary-general of the Emirates Golf Federation, walked away with the Division A and Division B titles respectively with an identical 32 points.

The tournament was the last of a series of events organized by the Emirates Golf Federation this season to create healthy playing opportunities for Emirati golfers. “Once again we had a strong field which also included a number of EGF board members and that amply reflected on the growing popularity of the monthly medal series,” said Saeed Albudoor, general manager of the Emirates Golf Federation.

“From the next season, we plan to have more tournaments for UAE nationals in different emirates to hone their competitive edge. We have one of the best facilities for golf in our country and it would be great to play every course during the season,” said Albudoor, who also thanked all the clubs for their support in making the UAE Nationals Monthly Medal series a resounding success.
