Hendry’s n Head Blitz Eid Scramble at Emirates Golf Club

The start of the winter calendar produced one of the best team Scramble performances ever recorded at Emirates Golf Club.

The quartet of Dan Hendry, Andrew Hendry, Glynis Hendry and Barbara Head recorded a gross 59 net 53.6 over the Faldo course in the Eid Mixed Scramble.

It was an unbelievable performance that produced two eagles on the 3rd and 10th and ten birdies. The team’s magical gross tally of 59 was good enough to beat the net scores of the other nine teams in the tournament. Runners up position went to the team of Martha Wong, Bill Wong, Ivy Bailey and Bob Bailey following their tally of 61.3.

Doug Dowie and Jenny Ayres, the new Club Captains, started their official duties with Doug presenting Jenny with the prize for nearest the pin on the 138-yard 2nd hole.

The other highlight of the day which was almost out done by the victors 59 was a hole in on by Cliff Caley on the 150-yard par 3 12th. It was Cliffs second hole in one and his 7 iron approach flew straight into the hole, he picked up nearest the pin for his superb effort and also a bar bill for the 40 strong field!
