Head and Turnbull taste success in Caroline Jones Lady Captain’s Day at Emirates Golf Club

For this fun event on the Majlis course, the tee boxes on some holes were modified and included different tasks, like driving off with a putter on hole 6 and using only a 7 iron until putting green on hole 13. In the Silver Division (Hcp 0-23) Barbara Head scored a fantastic 45 points which included a birdie 3 on hole 8 after having to tee of from a cup! She also had a nice 2 on hole 15 where she had to play to the 11th green from the white 15th tee!

The Runners up spot went to Viv Caley with a close 44 points including a birdie on the shortened 5th hole and a 2 on hole 11 where she had to play to the 15th green from the blue tee of the 11th!. Viv also made a 2 on hole 15.

Third place in the Silver division went to Fay d’Abo who scored a nice 44 including a birdie 3 on hole 7 were she had to throw the ball whilst wearing a blindfold and spinning round 3 times!

In Bronze Division (Hcp 24-42) Nicola Turnbull scored a fabulous 51 points taking first spot after a card playoff from Claudia Bollerslev. Margaret Breen came third with 48 points. Her card included a nice 2 on hole 9 were she had to tee off from the white tee box from hole 1!

In the Past Captains division Angela Connor took the honours with 43 points

During the event Josie Tracey had a hole in 1 on hole 15, having teed off from the modified teeing area on the 11th hole tee box!

End of season event prizes
The season long Birdie Tree winner was Nancy Wingate

The season long Electic Competition came to an end with Glynis Hendry winning the best gross prize on a count back from Rosemary Turlik. They both had fantastic 64’s. 
The best net prize was won by Jenny Isles with 56.6 and runner up spot went to Glynis Hendry with 57.8.

During the Season, the Ladies section has been running a beginners group. The winner of the Rosebowl from this year is Sue Hopwood, with Caroline Parker taking runner up spot.
