Handsel One Two For Opening Stableford event at Al Hamra Golf Club
The first open Stableford of the season took place on the last Friday of October on absolute pristine course conditions.
This event saw and impressive field of competitors with everybody teeing of in an 8am Shotgun under perfect golfing weather. The format for this event was Individual Stableford with competitors battling to take one of the top 3 prizes on offer. As usual in these events the Leaderboard was very close with only 2 points separating first and third spot.
The eventual winner and continuing her fine form of late was Lori Handsel who seems to be on fire carding a great score of 39 points which turned out to be 1 point better than her husband Rick Handsel who had to settle for second place with 38 points. Third place, again only 1 point back was Rita Engelbrecht who finished with 37 points. The two special events went to Rick Handsel who had nearest the pin on the 7th hole and Eric Engelbrecht who had nearest the pin on the 11th.
The next major event to be held at Al Hamra Golf Club will be the National Day Open. This will be a 2 day event with rounds at both Tower Links and Al Hamra on the 2nd and 3rd November.
