Gregory Mathieu October Genesis Medal Winner

A superb 66 net secures Gregory Mathieu the win

Gregory Mathieu: Last weekend saw the October Edition of the Genesis Medal take place at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club. A full field of golfers battled the challenging course and warm conditions in order to be titled this month’s winner. Conditions were perfect on the day leading to excellent scoring in all divisions.

Winning this month’s Genesis Medal was Gregory Mathieu after his superb score of 66 net (-5). This was Mathieu’s first medal win at Dubai Creek after he joined last season. His score of 66 net included a back nine of 39 gross. In the Men’s Division A the scoring was tight with 8 players being within four shots of the lead. The winner of this division was Shahram Shamsaee after his 67 was enough to hold off Scratch Team Captain John Fellingham. In Division B the winner was Mark Dupree after an excellent score of 68 net (-3). Runner-up in this division was Mohammed Al Musharrekh after finishing with a 70 net (-1). The Best Gross prize was again won by Mike McGinley who fired an excellent score of 69 (-3) which included five birdies. In the Ladies Division, the winner was Kristi Sealey who finished up on an excellent score of 67 net (-4). Members of the 2’s club on the day was Hannah Alan, Miki Mirza, Hyeonji Kang, Ailsa Brannock and JP Fitzgerald.

After the prize presentation, Dubai Creek’s Golf Services Manager, Michael Major commented; “Congratulations to all the winners, a huge thank you to Genesis for sponsoring the event!”
