‘golf in DUBAi’ hails Dubai Police support to Omega Dubai Desert Classic

‘golf in DUBAi’ have lauded Dubai Police’s role in providing logistical support to the Omega Dubai Desert Classic that gets under way at the Emirates Golf Club from February 9 to 12.

“Dubai Police are a source of pride for people living in the emirate. Their vast experience in managing events of this magnitude will be crucial to the staging of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic,” said Mohamed Juma Buamaim, vice chairman and CEO of golf in DUBAi after a meeting with senior Dubai Police officials on Tuesday.

“We want everyone coming to the Emirates Golf Club have fun and enjoy golf. We appreciate Dubai Police’s significant contribution towards ensuring the safety and security of the emirate’s residents, and it’s an honour to be associated with them,” said he added.

Dubai Police are well known to organising and managing various sports tournaments. They boast their own multi-purpose stadium, better known as the Police Officers Club Stadium with a sitting capacity of 7,500 people. It is used mostly for football matches, school sports days and track and field events.

In fact, sports form an integral part of Dubai Police’s campaign to encourage the community to adopt a healthy lifestyle and keep the society free of crimes. Their latest ‘Keep Fit Dubai’ initiative hit it off well, drawing a huge response from people of different nationalities living in Dubai.

The causes of health problems in this region are very much due to the lack of physical activities and poor eating habits. “Together we can dedicate our efforts to weight management and healthy living and to raise awareness in our journey to providing a healthier lifestyle for the people living in the UAE,” said Captain Essa Ahli.

The meeting, held at the Emirates Golf Club, was also attended by Warrant Officer Jamal Al Sumaiti.
