Golf House team win annual Breast Cancer Arabia Corporate Golf Day

Breast Cancer Arabia at Emirates Golf Club

The second annual Brest Cancer Arabia Corporate Golf Day was played over the Faldo Course at Emirates Golf Club on Thursday 16th May 2013.

13 teams of 4 took to the prestigious layout to compete to raise money for the Breast Cancer Arabia Foundation which pays for surgery and treatment for women unable to afford it.
With much support from many locally based high-profile companies who not only entered teams but donated prizes for auction, raffles and the golf itself, the day was a huge success.

Although charity was the priority, there were some excellent prizes for the golf tournament and taking victory in the 4-Ball Stableford format were the team representing Golf House.  Johan Du Bruyn, Heinrich Bruins, Dijon Smit and Tyron Evans won with a score of 86.
In second place were the team representing Interglobal – Mike Delamere, Mike Hitchcock, Aaron Sykes and Craig Turner scored 81, and only just taking third place the team representing TNT – Steve Stanton, Hanno Kroemer, Sajeel Quershi and Derek scored 79.

The Golf House players picked up more prizes; winning an iPod Touch for the Longest Drive was Dijon Smit and Heinrich Bruins picked up a Magic Cube Virtual Projection Keyboard for The Nearest-the-Pin.
After play, all players and their guests enjoyed Dinner at Emirates Golf Club where further fundraising took place through a raffle and an auction. The top raffle prize of an iPad mini was won by Chris Shennan who played in the Hay Group. The auction, which featured return business class flights (Dubai to UK) for 2 with Emirates, 5 night’s hotel stay for 2 people in Seychelles from TSOGO Sun, a night’s stay for 4 at Palm Tree Court from JA Resorts, a dinner cruise for 2 from Bateaux Dubai and a 4 ball at Emirates Golf Club.
In addition to the companies who donated prizes and auction items, the Breast Cancer Arabia Golf Day was also supported by TNT, Aegis Media, Mercedes, Golf House Emirates NBD, Scorpio Golf, Palmers, FreyWille and of course the players.
