Glory Xavier a Captains success

Glory Xavier: Yesterday saw the Ladies Monthly Medal sponsored by Palazzo Versace take place at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club. Every month, our wonderful Ladies section play to take home some excellent prizes, generously provided by Palazzo Versace. As well as 12 of our own Lady members, we also warmly welcomed two guests from the esteemed Emirates Golf Club.

Lady Captain, Glory Xavier, took a convincing three shot victory with a nett 69 (-2) after an exceptional back nine of gross -1 par, including birdies on the 11th and 15th holes. Division A was won by Janet Kim after a 74 nett (+3), although this result was decided after a 9-hole countback against close runner up, Beatrice Galeppini. Division B was won with a solid 72 nett (+1) by Shiba Khan.

Our guests, Roma Khanna and Carolyn Smylie were playing for their own prize this month, and Roma was crowned victorious after a stellar 73 nett (+2) on an unfamiliar golf course.

The on course prizes were dominated by Kristi Sealey who delivered good shots when it counted, claiming prizes for: nearest the pin on the 5th hole, nearest the pin in two shots on the 3rd hole, and longest drive on the 12th hole. A fine tee shot led to Glory Xavier winning the nearest the pin on the 14th hole.

After a delicious buffet lunch, Golf Professional, Joe Way commented, “Well done for persisting through the heat today, congratulations to our winners and thank you as always to Palazzo Versace for their continued support!”
