Gallacher holds firm to become first back to back Omega Dubai Desert Classic winner

Stephen Gallacher held his nerve to become the first back to back winner of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic in nail biting fashion. The scot was in the lead by 2 after his blistering 3rd round but started off with a poor front nine dropping 4 shots to fall back into the chasing pack which were all in the hunt. At one stage the leaderboard was full of players who could have won the title, but no one could take up the mantle and prize the trophy from the defending chanpions hands.

Gallacher composed himself and put in another solid back 9 of 33, with 4 birdies to seal the back to back win. It certainly was dramatic stuff, again at the Classic. The emotionally wrecked winner produced a gutsy, dogged and classy performance to be the first person to retain this title, a feat in itself.

It was yet another Classic.
