Friday sees Round 1 of the Jumeirah Golf Estates Men’s Amateur Open sponsored by BMW AGMC

68 golfers will tee off tomorrow (Friday) on the Earth course at Jumeirah Golf Estates, Dubai for the inaugural Jumeirah Golf Estates Men’s Open sponsored by BMW AGMC.

The event has a 36 hole format with the second round being played on Fire course on Saturday.
The tournament is split into divisions with Division A for 12 and under handicaps and Division B for handicap holders 13 – 24. Play will be from the Medal tee yardage on both courses.

Geoff Hunter General Manager of Jumeirah Golf Estates said at the draw announcement, ’We are excited to be organising this first Men’s Amateur Open. We have been impressed with the entry response and look forward to hosting players for a great weekend of golf. Our thanks particularly go to our sponsors BMW AGMC for their continued support of Jumeirah Golf Estates.’

Leading players in the field include low handicappers in the draw visitors Ryan Luke (0.6) and Ramsey Yasin (0.8). A strong contingent of EGF members have committed to the event with 49 entries with notables including Chris Ward (9), Sidney D’Souza (9), Sergei D’Souza (6) and Mike Talbot (9).
