Fredriksson Secures Hatrick of Club Championships

Pontus Fredriksson won his third successive Men’s Club Championship title by a six shot margin over ninety one fellow members.

Following his opening round of 80 over the Faldo course he found himself one shot off the lead set by Tony Azoulay. Competitors experienced windy conditions and fast greens on day one resulting in only one player breaking 80 on the difficult par 73 Faldo designed course.

The final round over the Majlis course produced some improved scoring with Fredriksson shining though with a level par 72, he signed for a 152 36-hole tally. Azoulay recorded back to back scores of 79 to secure runners-up position, two clear of Vikram Judge (82 & 78).

The overall net result again produced some high scoring with Sheikh Imran Qayyum taking top place in Division A (handicap 0-12) with scores of 73 and 74. David Ashcroft took second following rounds of 78 and 75.
Tej Chhabra won Division B (handicap 13-24) on a 150 tally with Ed Hesson two shots further back in second.
