Evangelopoulos on Fire in Clubhouse Trophy at Emirates Golf Club

Nick Evangelopoulos won the Clubhouse Trophy with a staggering 44 points. The 9-handicapper produced one of his best performances ever over the Majlis course signing for a gross 73.

His card included birdies at the 2nd, 12th, 13th and 16th holes with shots dropped on the 1st, 5th, 9th and an unfortunate double bogey on the 11th. With the Majlis course in fantastic shape heading into the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters Hiromasa Tsuji matched Nick’s 44-point tally but was denied victory following a count back after Nick’s one under par inward half. Rabih Sfeila continued his good form with 41 points to claim third place.

Tej Chhabra won Division A (handicap 0-14) with 39 points followed by Andrew Robinson one point adrift in second. Anil Adnani clinched Division B (handicap 15-24) with 39 points with Aaroosh Kohli in second following a 37 point total.

The Clubhouse Trophy also coincided with the Emirates Airline Invitational Golden Ticket Qualifier, offering members a chance to play in the Invitational Pro-Am with a European Tour Pro as their partner. Forty five of the starting field competed in this offering support for the Friends of Cancer Patients UAE charity. Hiromasa Tsuji and Rabih Sfeila will attend the Grand Final on 25th January at Yas Links, the winner of that will play in the Emirates Airline Invitational Pro-Am on 30th January.
