EGF Teams dominate UAE Junior Golf Amatuer event

The Emirates Golf Federation-2 team, led by young Line Dalile, rode on a great team work to chalk up an exciting victory in the UAE Junior Am sponsored by Pepsico, organised by the Emirates Golf Federation to honour the junior players for their achievements during the season, at the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club on Saturday.

Undeterred by searing heat, the EGF-2 team, which also comprised Purna Sharma, Mohamed Darwish, Fatih Bozkurt and Saeed Albudoor, carded a sizzling net 55.46to narrowly beat their nearest rivals the EGF-3 team (net 56.16) on a day when almost all the 25 teams that featured in the season-ending competition returned some excellent scores.
Spearheaded by junior Aditya Judge, the EGF-3 team consisted of Alistair Davies, Vikram Judge, Nasha Sarkari and Lindsay Brown.

With just one and half point separating the top four, the season-ending tournament produced an intense battle in the sun. Finishing a creditable third on a net 56.22 was the Ahmed Albudoor-led team of the Els Club while Abdullah Bin Thani guided his National Junior Programme (NJP) team to a fourth-place finish with a net score of 56.48
Nigel Benstead VP & Chief International Compliance Officer, AMEA & Europe of PepsiCo International, presented the prizes in the company of Saeed Albudoor, general manager of the Emirates Golf Federation.

Saeed Albudoor lauded all the players for braving the heat and contributing to the success of the tournament. “We couldn’t have asked for a better finale to our season. The scores amply reflect on the intensity of the competition,” he said.
“We, at the Emirates Golf Federation, will try and create more playing opportunities especially for juniors in the next season. We have some of the best courses in the world and golf is flourishing. We need to keep the momentum going,” he added.
