Dubal and Dubai Duty free win the Omega Dubai Desert Classic Pro Am

England’s Paul Casey led the DUBAL team to a narrow victory in the Omega Dubai Desert Classic Pro Am (morning shot gun) at Emirates Golf Club on Wednesday. The DUBAL team, which comprised Walid Al Attar, Maurizio La Noce and Greg Sproule, carded an impressive score of 24-under to beat the Omega team on a countback. Spearheaded by Denmark’s Thorbjorn Olesen , the Omega team included Gurbax Singh, Stathis Stathis and Vinod Arya as the three amateurs.

Finishing third on a creditable score of 23-under was the another team Omega which consisted of Spain’s Pablo Larrazabal (professional), Ranvir Bhandari, Pranam Wahi and Amit Radia.

The Dubai Duty Free team, led by Shane Lowry of Ireland, took the honours in the Afternoon Pro Am, with a score of 20-under. The three amateurs in the team included George Horan, Niall McLoughlin and Ara Nakhnikian.

Finishing runners-up, just one stroke adrift, was the team of Omega which consisted of Ireland’s Paul McGinley (professional), Kevin Roy, Rishad Moloobhoy and Kourche Achtari.

Spearheaded by Thailand’s Thongchai Jaidee, the ‘golf in DUBAi’ team settled for third on 17-under. Pasan Teparak, Tosaporn and Viwat were the three amateurs in the team.
