Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club final ladies morning

Recently marked the end of the season for the ladies at Dubai Creek as they competed in the final ladies morning event before their long summer break.

Today was all the more special as the ladies from the Creek were joined by their fellow lady members from Emirates Golf Club.  Despite the ever increasing summer heat the ladies happily set off on the beautiful Dubai Creek course to compete in some fun and friendly competition.

Winning on the day with a superb gross score of 82 was Naema Maya.  After being presented her prize Maya commented; “I played well today and I am very happy to have won.  I would like to say a big thank you to the staff involved with the event for all of their hard work and also to our Captain & Vice Captain, Maureen Platt and Paula Savage for their continued efforts.  I look forward to seeing you all next season and wish you all a wonderful summer”.

The prize for best net was to be decided on a count-back after Mrs. G A Cho & Paula Savage both played fantastically and were tied on net 64.  In the end there was just one shot in it and Cho was victorious coming back in 44 to Savages 45.   Mini Philip also put in a great performance and picked up her first victory as she won the best stableford prize with a massive 44 points.

There were a host of on course prizes up for grabs as well.  Claiming the first of these was Naema Maya who won longest drive on the 7 th hole.  EGC member Sulafa Hamdan took the prize for straightest drive on the 12th hole.  Hole 11 was nearest the pin in 2, and this was won by Harini White.  Nearest the pin prizes competitions were on all four of the par 3’s.  The prize on the 5 th hole went to Annette Carstanjen, on the 8th it was former EGC Lady Captain,  Jenny Ayres,  the 14th was won by net champion  G A Cho and on the 16th today’s champion, Naema Maya.

All of the winners received vouchers for the beautiful Tulise Spa compliments of a kind donation by Dubai Creek member Ms. Swati Singh.  After conducting the prize presentation Rashid Hamood, Assistant Golf Experience Manager Dubai Creek commented; “It is great to see all of you ladies enjoying the event today and it has been a pleasure to be involved again. On behalf of myself and Craig Waddell I would like to thank you all for your participation throughout the season and I look forward welcoming you back after what will hopefully be a wonderful summer break for you all.”
