Dubai based GAC expand Golf sponsorship with exciting stars of the future

Dubai-based global shipping, logistics and marine service provider GAC, today announced three exciting new additions to its roster of professional golf ambassadors. 2014 rookies of the year Chesson Hadley (USA) and Amy Boulden (Wales) are joined by South Korean prodigy and former US Amateur Champion, Byeong Hun An.

The trio join GAC’s existing stable of golfers that include South Africa’s George Coetzee, and Richard Sterne and Englishmen Graeme Storm and Chris Wood.

GAC Group Marketing Director, Sean Bradley, said: “It is exciting to announce the extension of our sponsorship portfolio with three golfers of such a high calibre. The introduction of Amy, Chesson and Byeong mirrors our desire as an organization to support the finest talent on a truly global stage.

“In addition to a variety of unique hospitality opportunities we now have a fantastic platform to spread awareness of the GAC brand with our team of seven golfers proudly wearing the GAC logo across the European Tour, US PGA Tour and the Ladies European Tour. We wish them all well for the season ahead.”

Boulden, 21, stormed up the Ladies’ European Tour rankings last year with her first professional tournament victory at the Gams-Werdenberg Golf Club. Three top five and several top 20 finishes saw the Welsh maestro finish 18th in the Order of Merit and take the Rookie of the Year title to fully emphasize the potential of Wales’ rising star.

Bizarrely, Hadley, 27, is left-handed, yet plays golf right-handed. However, this idiosyncrasy hasn’t halted Hadley from being labelled one of America’s most promising golfers. In March 2014, he sealed his maiden PGA Tour title at the Puerto Rico Open and picked up the US PGA Tour Rookie of the Year award in October.

23-year-old An’s pedigree and potential is without doubt, in 2009 he won the coveted United States Amateur Championship in 2009 to sit alongside some illustrious company.  An’s year began in impressive style with a hole-in-one at the HSBC Abu Dhabi Masters in which he went on to finish tied twelfth. The South Korean prodigy then went on to finish tied for fifth at the Qatar Masters in Doha.

GAC also sponsor professional British professional cycling team Team Raleigh-GAC, NFL side Jacksonville Jaguars, NBA side Houston Rockets, Le Mans driver Alex Brundle and professional sailing teams in the World Match Racing Tour and the Extreme Sailing Series.
