DP World Tour Championship Dubai seeking volunteers for next November

ORGANISERS of the DP World Tour Championship are once again giving golf fans the chance to play a crucial role in the success of one of The European Tour’s most prestigious events by helping out as volunteers.

The tournament, taking place at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai, from November 20-23, will see The European Tour’s top 60 players, including current DP World Tour Championship and Race to Dubai Champion Henrik Stenson and former Champion Rory McIlroy, contest the season-ending grand finale amid glorious conditions on the pristine Earth course.

England’s Jenni Hoskins has acted as Chief Marshal since 2010 – a job she loves and one which includes putting together and looking after the rest of the team of volunteers, both from the local region and around the world, many of whom have been coming back each year to work at the event since the inaugural tournament in 2009.
“I love my role as Chief Marshal,” says Hoskins. “I have a great loyal and committed team behind me who support me from beginning to end and I try hard to ensure they get maximum satisfaction out of their contribution to the success of the tournament.
“It’s important we look after our volunteers really well. We get volunteers coming from America, the UK, South Africa, Canada, just about everywhere.”
Volunteers are assigned a variety of roles: assisting with crowd management, player movement and scoring, both on the course and for the TV crews positioned around the Earth course and Hoskins believes it is a unique way to experience a world-class golf event.

“Seeing all the volunteers buzzing with excitement at the very end of the week gives me the biggest thrill of all – it’s an amazing feeling to hear them chatter and take away such happy memories having given so much of themselves to a highly successful event in a sport they feel passionate about.”
While Jenni will once again be welcoming back many of her regular volunteer friends, she’s also looking forward to bringing some new ones on to the team for this year’s event.
“I am about to begin the process of getting in touch with all of my loyal and regular volunteers who I know are returning this year, but I’m also really looking forward to hearing from any new volunteers who want to add energy and enthusiasm to this exciting tournament – if you are interested, please do not hesitate to get in touch!”
