Down to one round for a winner to step up on day3 of the Omega Dubai Desert Classic

The third day at the Emirates Golf Club was a tense affair and no one took advantage and managed to break away and take a lead.

This all adds up for a really good last day of Golf on the Majlis which today was playing a lot tougher than the first 2 days and coupled with a swirling wind caused a lot of problems for the players.
The weather seemed to change dramatically for the later starters as well causing the ending pile up and not a clear gap to a few leaders.

Rory Aiken Dubai

The lead went back and forward all afternoon, dropped shots and misjudged erratic drives were all around the course as several struggled with the unpredictable wind and light sand. It was however a lovely day with blue skies but those of us who live in the desert know what it is like and how deceiving that can look when the wind decides to wake up.

Mcilroy's push for the third day never materialised, he started off very badly with 3 bogies in a row and his judgement was way off on several shots, so the conditions seem to definitely cause him some issues.

Woods round was also a battle, which he admitted after, at one point on holes 8,9,10,11 he scored +1,+2,-2,-1, just showcasing how much of a battle it was to hang in there and Woods certainly did that. His round also included a birdie on the last hole to make a par round, remember he scored the eagle on the first round at the last and came out with a near perfect one the next day? Watch this space.

Alvaro Velasco shot the round of the day on -7 and he was one of the fist starters out this morning when the conditions were more benine. The other Alvaro in the field Quiros also had a good round with the best of the later strts, he shot a creditable -4.

A Hanson Dubai

Garcia never pushed on either shooting a 75, he was on the top of the leaderboard a few time as the lead swung back and forward, he is not out of it yet and sits in amongst the pack.

There are 20 players within a 3 shot lead, so the winner could be anyone claiming the trophy going into the last day. An extremely exciting prospect for the tournament and fans it is almost impossible to pick one and I expect some ups and downs along the way tomorrow.
