Donaghy’s Drive at Al Badia Stableford Tournament

Another stableford competition was held on May 22 at the Al Badia Golf Club with Greg Donaghy taking over the winner’s mantle, crowned as the overall winner who carded a total of 40 points.

Greg got off to a slow start at the beginning of his round dropping 3 points in his first two holes but then soon picked up the pace with birdies on the hole 8 and 12 for 4 points each and steadily using his shots to collect 3 points on the hole 2, 4, 16 and 18.

Another solid performance from the Club Champion, Brett Armstrong proved himself best again carding a total score of 37 points. Adding to his victory in this division was his longest drive shot in hole 9. Coming as a runner up was Chet Riley, who scored two points behind Brett. Robert David’s fantastic run on the back 9 by scoring 4 points in hole 13 and keeping this momentum in the next 3 holes, was the key for his success in the B Division with a total score of 39.

Francesco Motka settled as a runner up in B division with 37 points.
Not to be outshone, Ian Fraser showed his outstanding performance by winning nearest the pin in hole 3 and straightest drive in hole 1. While Mike Groves won nearest the pin in hole 11 with an 8 feet close to the pin.
