Dickman wins the first Al Ghazal Summer Monthly Medal
The first of the Summer Monthly Medals was played for last Friday with a slight change in format for the competitors.
Normally, prizes are awarded to each division, but as the official winter season is over all the divisions are joined and the winners are those who have the lowest net score off Blue tees for men and normal red tees for ladies.
The May Monthly Medal was hotly contested with only one shot separating the leaders. Alan Dickman with an impressive 67 took honours from Phil Wilkes 68 and third placed Paul Carrahar 69. The ladies division was won by Chaya Kinder.
Captain Rupert Evans also announced that the opening 9 Hole Summer Texas Scramble Hit N Giggle weekly fun event will begin as with tradition on 31st May with Pat and Emily Gordon starting everything off and will present the new trophy. The weekly events are open to all and are free except for a small donation of Dhs. 10.- to the Captain’s Charity. It is a great opportunity for beginners, non-players, juniors to try their hand at the wonderful game of golf, anyone interested can call the Golf Reception at 02-5758040.
